Official: The 2020/21 Bundesliga season to begin on 18 September
The Bundesliga will return in mid-September.
The 2020/21 Bundesliga season will kick off on 18 September 2020 with the final matchday set to take place on 22 May 2021, the German Football League (DFL) has announced on Friday.
As usual, the DFB-Pokal will get underway a week before the start of the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga with the first round set to be played from 11-14 September.
The second round of the DFB-Pokal will be played on 22-23 December while the first Bundesliga matchday of 2021 has been scheduled for 2-3 January, which means the winter break will be much shorter than it usually is.
The Super Cup final between double-winners Bayern München and Borussia Dortmund, who finished second in Bundesliga in the 2019/20 season, will take place on 30 September.
