Leverkusen edging closer to Arias signing
Atlético Madrid right-back Santiago Arias is being linked with a move to Bayer Leverkusen.
Bayer Leverkusen are understood to be edging closer to the signing of Santiago Arias from Atlético Madrid.
Respected Italian transfer experts Gianluca di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano both report that the 28-year-old right-back is nearing a move to BayArena.
Atlético sporting director Andrea Berta admitted on Sunday that Arias could depart the Spanish capital club, telling Kicker that a loan move with an obligation to buy is a possibility.
At the time, he denied that Leverkusen had shown any interest, but it seems that has since changed.
'Die Werkself' are looking for an alternative Lars Bender at right-back. Mitchell Weiser no longer appears to be in the plans of head coach Peter Bosz and didn't even make it into the squad for Sunday's Bundesliga clash with Wolfsburg.
