Neuer: 'We want to enjoy playing football again'

Manuel Neuer says the German internationals are fired up to get back on track after the disappointing World Cup.
On Thursday, the German national team will return to the pitch for the first time since the disappointing World Cup in Russia that saw 'Die Mannschaft' crash out at the group stage.

Coincidentally, Joachim Löw's troops will be up against the world champions of France on Thursday, and captain Manuel Neuer says the whole German team are eager to deliver a good performance.

"We want to have fun and enjoy playing football again. We are all well aware what we need to do," Neuer said at a press conference today and went on:

"We have known the national team coach for a very long time. He was, of course, dejected, but also were determined. One has noticed that he is very hungry again, and that he wants to get back to the track of success."

The game will be played in München at the Allianz Arena at 20:45 (CET).
