With Hansi Flick set to leave Bayern München this summer, Joshua Kimmich hopes the 56-year-old will take over from Joachim Löw as Germany coach.
Bayern München midfielder Joshua Kimmich has backed Hansi Flick to succeed Joachim Löw as Germany coach this summer.
Flick recently announced that he wishes to leave his position as Bayern München coach this summer, further fueling speculation that he could take over from Löw, who is set to step back after this summer's European Championship.
Asked about Flick's impending departure and the rumors linking the 56-year-old with the Germany job, Kimmich told Kicker:
"There was always unnecessary discussion, although we have played relatively successfully as you may have noticed. Therefore, [Flick leaving] was always a possibility somewhere along the line.
"If that happens this summer, I hope that he will take over at the DFB afterwards," said the German international.
