Huntelaar sets condition for possible Schalke stay

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar reveals condition for possible Schalke stay.
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has spoken of the possibility of staying at Schalke 04 for another season.

The relegated Bundesliga outfit are understood to be keen on keeping Huntelaar, whose contract expires this summer, but the 37-year-old hasn't made up his mind yet.

"I haven't made a decision yet. I don't put myself under pressure in this regard and give myself the necessary time," Huntelaar told Ruhr Nachrichten.

"An important consideration for me is what the Schalke squad will look like for the new season in the second division. Schalke should be able to compete at the upper half of the table. Because this season was very, very bad."

Huntelaar played for Schalke from 2010 to 2017. He returned to the club in January on short-term deal.
