RB Leipzig chief confirms Bayern held talks with Konrad Laimer

Dayot Upamecano and Marcel Sabitzer both left RB Leipzig for Bayern München over the summer, and the Bavarians were apparently looking into the possibility of signing a third player from their rivals.
Bayern München signed two of RB Leipzig's key players during the summer transfer window, with defensive chief Dayot Upamecano and captain Marcel Sabitzer both following their former coach Julian Nagelsmann to the Allanz Arena.

According to RB Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff, the German champions also held talks with Konrad Laimer, but didn't approach the 'Die Roten Bullen' directly about the player.

"There was contact between FC Bayern and the player," confirmed Mintzlaff in an interview with Sport Bild and added:

"For us, this procedure is not new.

"Look, this is the normal procedure of FC Bayern. Of course, Bayern like to cause a bit of trouble for us, but also for other clubs."

In the end, however, Laimer chose to stay at Red Bull Arena.
