Ibrahima Sissoko is leaving VfL Bochum, as the club officially announced this evening, in favour of a move to FC Nantes.

The 28-year-old Malian has signed a contract until 2028 with the French first-division club who are currently sat in 16th-place.

However, the transfer is financially lucrative for the midfielder who is set to earn twice the salary he received at Castroper Straße.

Although both clubs agreed to keep the transfer fee confidential, it's expected that Nantes will pay around €2million including bonuses.

Bochum brought the Malian international to the Ruhr region on a free transfer from Racing Strasbourg in the summer of 2024.

Since then, Sissoko went on to make 41 appearances for Bochum, scoring five goals and providing one assist.
