Bayer Leverkusen are on the verge of bringing Guela Doué in from Racing Strasbourg, according to multiple sources.

Sky Germany understands that Doué, has now given his word to Leverkusen's management, with a verbal agreement reached.

Now, all that remains is the Bundesliga club finding terms with Strasbourg, with a €35million fee likely to secure the Côte d'Ivoire star.

Transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri notes that the right-back has turned down interest from Paris Saint-Germain in favour of Leverkusen.

The 23-year-old has insisted on moving to the Rhineland club where he believes he is guaranteed a regular starting spot.

According to the specialist magazine Kicker.de, the French first-division club had initially demanded €50million for Doué.

However, since Bayer were still negotiating with Strasbourg at the time, Kicker understood that the sum has since been significantly reduced.
