What once looked like a move full of potential is now known as a disappointing loan spell: Sky Germany reports that Tottenham Hotspur have decided against a permanent transfer of Timo Werner, who is therefore set to return to RB Leipzig in the summer.

The 29-year-old has played 41 games for Tottenham since the start of his loan in January 2024, in which he scored 3 goals and assisted another 6 - too little to convince the Premier League team of a transfer.

Tottenham had an option to buy Werner for around €12 million, but have seemingly decided against it - a huge disappointment for Werner, who openly displayed his love for the English league.

Should coach Marco Rose leave RB Leipzig this summer, then there is a chance of Werner writing a new chapter in his history with RB Leipzig. The clear tendency, however, is a move to another Premier League club or a team from the MLS.
