VfL Wolfsburg's busy winter transfer window looks set to continue as they start working on a deal for Charlie Cresswell.

Sky Germany reports that negotiations are underway for a winter move of the 23-year-old central defender who is 1.90m in stature.

The English centre-half is currently under contract with French first-division club FC Toulouse until 2028.

Cresswell initially joined from Leeds United in the summer of 2024 for €4.5million and last June won the U-21 EUROs with England.

He was a regular starter for the Three Lions' youth team and has continued that at Toulouse, playing 18 of their 19 league matches.

It's now believed Wolfsburg will have to cross Kristoffer Ajer off their list after the Norwegian will not receive a release from Brentford.

Another candidate for the center-back position is 1.FC Union Berlin's Danilo Doekhi, who is expected to leave in summer at the latest.
