Vincent Kompany expressed pride in his Bayern Munich side after their latest 4-1 win over Atalanta Bergamo in the Champions League, praising both their quality and their commitment to entertaining the fans.
“I’m always proud of what the boys deliver - they perform, score goals, and never stop,” Kompany said. “They also think about the fans and always want to put on a show. It was a good day for the club.”
The Bayern coach also took time to highlight the contributions of his younger players, acknowledging the challenge of breaking into the team at such a high level.
“It’s not easy at FC Bayern for young players to get minutes,” he explained. “I hope they enjoyed their moments today - they still have a long way ahead of them.”
Kompany singled out Filip Pavić for praise, noting the youngster’s steady development behind the scenes.
“He has been training with us for a year and deserved his minutes today.”
Lennart Karl, meanwhile, was described as already a step ahead despite his age. “He’s further along, very professional, and has been part of our squad for a long time now. He's superb.”
Unsurprisingly, Kompany also reserved special praise for Harry Kane, who once again made the difference in front of goal.
“Harry Kane is incredible. He’s just come back from injury, and I can’t even explain his second goal,” Kompany said. “The movement - it’s unbelievable, world-class. We’re very happy to have him.”
Looking ahead, Kompany turned his focus to the upcoming clash with Real Madrid, emphasising both the magnitude of the occasion and the belief his team must carry into it.
“Everything is huge at Real Madrid, but also at Bayern Munich. The history of both clubs is massive - it will be something very special,” he said. “Honestly, with Real Madrid, the higher the level, the better they play.”
Despite the challenge, Kompany made clear what will be required from his side.
“No matter what the game brings, when you face an opponent like that, you need belief - as players and as a team - that you can implement your ideas and ultimately be successful. We've got that belief.”
