Harry Kane spoke about contract talks after scoring his 100th and 101th Bundesliga goals in the 7-0 win over Union Berlin. The England captain is the fastest to reach a century of goals in Europe’s top-five leagues as he reached this feat in only his 98th appearance.
"I'm very proud of scoring 101 Bundesliga goals in such a short time,” the 33-year-old striker said in his post-match interview (via reputable FC Bayern-focused X page iMiaSanMia). “I've loved every second of it. Playing with Michael (Olise), Lucho (Luis Díaz), Jamal (Musiala), I know I'll get chances. Thank you to the team and the club. It's a great stat to have. Let's keep it going"
Kane also stressed the need for such a dominant performance after Bayern’s underwhelming performances against Schalke and Elversberg. "We've been winning games and scoring goals recently, but didn't quite reach our top level. It was nice to get to this level today, especially right before the international break"
Lastly, Kane confirmed negotiations are still ongoing for his contract extension at Rekordmeister. “As I said (before), I'm extremely happy here. The talks are ongoing. I really appreciate the support the fans are showing me here.”
