Hertha BSC suffered an injury setback in their 0-0 draw with Schalke 04 on Saturday, as 16-year-old Kennet Eichhorn picked up an ankle injury.

According to Bild, the highly-rated youngster could potentially miss the remainder of the season, with concerns that his syndesmosis may be affected.

Further examinations are scheduled for Wednesday to determine the full extent of the injury.

Having forced his way into Hertha’s starting lineup at just 16, Eichhorn has already attracted attention from some of Europe’s top clubs, including Bayern Munich.

Last month, Munich-based publication TZ reported that the German champions would be prepared to spend a total of €25 million to sign the young midfielder.
