Injuries have left Borussia Mönchengladbach short on attacking options ahead of their Friday night Bundesliga clash with Mainz.
As Gladbach coach Eugen Polanski confirmed on Thursday, Franck Honorat (calf problems), Tim Kleindienst (surgery wound issues), Robin Hack (knee problems), and Florian Neuhaus (muscular problems) will all miss the game.
The setback is particularly bitter for Kleindienst, as the Gladbach captain had only just returned from a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Giovanni Reyna and Kevin Stöger are likely to compete for Neuhaus’ spot in attacking midfield, while Shuto Machino is expected to step in for Honorat alongside Haris Tabakovic up front.
