Nübel's agent reacts to reports of a new Bayern deal for Neuer

Alexander Nübel's agent says his client would have to 'think carefully' about his future should Manuel Neuer sign a new deal with Bayern München.
Alexander Nübel's agent, Stefan Backs, has reacted to reports that Manuel Neuer is close to signing a new two-year deal with Bayern München.

Nübel made the switch to Bayern from Schalke 04 in 2020 and made just four appearances in his first season at Allianz Arena, with Manuel Neuer being in goal for the majority of games.

Looking for more playing time, the 25-year-old joined Monaco on a two-year loan deal last summer, meaning he is due to return to Bayern in 2023, at which point Neuer's current deal expires.

However, should Neuer sign a contract extension, Nübelmight consider leaving Bayern for good.

"If Manuel Neuer were to extend his contract, that would of course be a fundamental decision for the club. Then we would have to think carefully about how things will go with Alex," Backs told Abendzeitung and continued:

"Alex made his move to FC Bayern at the time because he was presented with a clear career plan.

"So far, no one from Bayern has informed me that anything has changed in that regard."
