Müller speaks out on uncertain Bayern future

Bayern München veteran Thomas Müller has opened up on his contract situation.
Thomas Müller insists he is not distracted by uncertainty surrounding his Bayern München future.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Müller reiterated his desire to keep playing at the highest level until 2025.

The 32-year-old's current Bayern contract, however, only runs until 2023.

"I once said to myself that I wanted to play top-level football until 2025. That's what I had in mind, and that's still the feeling I have at the moment," Müller told reporters.

"My current contract runs until 2023, so we'll have to see what we do there. It's basically the case that the club and we players are always in an exchange to some extent. That was also the case earlier, when it was said that there was not contact at all. I don't want to talk too much about it, it's not like you want to be distracted from the sporting situation now."

In addition to Müller, Manuel Neuer, Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry are also out of contract in 2023.

"The players, who are all effected by this, are all experienced enough to handle even such a slightly open situation well. There is a lot of respect on both sides," said Müller.
