Borussia Dortmund have announced that Paco Alcacer has now joined the club on a permanent deal.
Paco Alcacer has signed a permanent deal with Borussia Dortmund that runs until 2023, the club have announced.

The Spanish striker joined Dortmund from FC Barcelona on loan in the summer, and the German club have now taken advantage of a purchase option to tie him down to a permanent contract.

According to reports, Borussia Dortmund will pay around €23 million plus a potential additional fee of €5 million in bonus payments for Alcacer.

"We have informed FC Barcelona today that we will take advantage of the purchase option. Paco is with us wholeheartedly, he has integrated quickly and become an integral part of our squad," Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc told BVB.de.

Paco Alcacer says he is eager to repay the trust that has been put in him.

"I'm very happy in Dortmund, at BVB and in this wonderful team. Joining Borussia Dortmund was and is exactly the right decision for me. I will do everything I can to say thank you for the trust with my performances and goals," he told BVB.de.

The 25-year-old has scored nine goals in eight appearances for Dortmund so far.
