Matthäus: Coman and Gnabry have walked in the giant footsteps of 'Robbery'

Lothar Matthäus feels Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman have proven that they're capable of succeeding Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.
The long-time partnership between Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben - nicknamed 'Robbery' - will come to an end this summer when both the aging wing wizards leave the club.

Fortunately for Bayern, Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman are fully ready to take over from the aging duo, argues Lothar Matthäus.

"Coman and Gnabry have now walked in the giant footsteps of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery. Kovac has secretly and silently ensured that you don't miss the quality of the two legendary wingers," Matthäus wrote in his column for Sky and added:

"Just like 'Robbery', Coman and Gnabry are fast, good dribblers who score goals. They know how to put Müller and Lewandowski in the limelight and shine themselves often enough at the same time.

"I hope with all my heart that Arjen and Franck will get to wear the jersey of FC Bayern again sometime this season, so they can get the farewell that they've throughly earned."

Ribery, 36, joined Bayern in 2007 while Robben has played for the Bavarian club since 2009.
