Report: Alexander Nübel has turned down a move to RB Leipzig

Alexander Nübel will reportedly not be joining RB Leipzig.
Schalke 04 captain Alexander Nübel has rejected the possibility of moving to RB Leipzig, according to Bild.

'Die Roten Bullen' already expressed concrete interest in Nübel in the summer when they had a €13 million bid rejected. Now, the transfer is definitively off the table, as per the report.

RB Leipzig recently reacted to Nübel's rejection by extending the contract of their first-choice goalkeeper, Péter Gulácsi, until 2023.

That means Borussia Dortmund currently look like the favourites to land Nübel who will be out of contract at the end of the season unless he decides to sign an extension.

Bayern München have also been linked with the 22-year-old, but are working on extending Manuel Neuer's contract beyond 2021, so Nübel would face competition from the German international for years to come in case of a move to Allianz Arena.
