Hansi Flick: 'We had a bit of luck'

Hansi Flick believed Bayern München had a bit of luck on their side in Wednesday's clash with Freiburg.
Bayern München coach Hansi Flick admitted his side had 'a bit of luck' in Wednesday's 1-3 victory over Freiburg.

Flick's troops were 1-0 up at the break thanks to a Robert Lewandowski goal, but Freiburg managed to equalise through Vincenzo Grifo after 59 minutes.

It looked like it would all end with a draw until substitute Joshua Zirkzee popped up to score the winner in injury time before Serge Gnabry killed the game off for good, making it 3-1 shortly after.

"We saw two different halves. We did a very good job before the break. Freiburg got a grip then, closed down the space and played diagonal balls. We weathered the period. Of course we had a bit of luck, but it feels so good to return with a 3-1 win," Hansi Flick said after the game, as quoted by the club.

"The lads have contested many matches, it's clear we're exhausted. We must regenerate now to be fit against Wolfsburg on Saturday," he added.

Bayern climbed to third place with their win on Wednesday.
