Bayern München CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed that contract talks with the likes of Manuel Neuer, Thomas Müller, Thiago Alcantara and David Alaba are underway.

"I would like to emphasize that we are currently only holding talks with players, whose contracts expire in 2021. That means Manuel Neuer, Thomas Müller, Thiago, David Alaba etc. All of them have great merits for FC Bayern, and this must be taken into account," the Bayern boss told TZ.

Besides the players mentioned by Rummenigge, Javi Martinez, Jerome Boateng, Sven Ulreich and Ron-Thorben Hoffmann are also out of contract in 2021.

Rummenigge also said that Bayern have put all transfers on hold due to the coronavirus outbreak.

"Nobody knows today exactly how the corona crisis will affect football in the coming weeks and months. That's why we have put our work to make new signings on hold for the time being. But there is one thing I can already predict today: both transfer fees and salaries will be reevaluated by all clubs in Europe," he said.
