Report: Niko Kovac and Monaco to battle with Hertha for Marius Wolf

After appointing Niko Kovac as coach, AS Monaco could battle with Hertha BSC to sign Marius Wolf from Borussia Dortmund.
AS Monaco could compete with Hertha BSC for the signature of Borussia Dortmund's Marius Wolf, according to Bild.

Wolf spent last season on loan at Hertha, who have reportedly offered €5 million to sign him on a permanent deal. Dortmund, however, are understood to be holding out for twice that amount.

Following Niko Kovac's appointment as AS Monaco coach, Hertha could now face competition from the Ligue 1 side.

According to Bild, the former Frankfurt and FC Bayern coach has started looking into whether Wolf could imagine joining up with him at Monaco.

Back in January 2017, Kovac brought Wolf to Frankfurt, where the midfielder emerged as a key player moving on to Dortmund in 2018.

Wolf, who is capable of playing as a winger and as a wing-back, made 23 appearances for Hertha last season with one goal and five assists to his name.
