Sead Kolasinac to return to Schalke 04?

Schalke 04 are reportedly working on a deal to bring Sead Kolasinac back from Arsenal.
Schalke 04 are looking into the possibility of bringing back Sead Kolasinac from Arsenal, according to a report from Sky, which has been confirmed by Sport1 and WAZ.

'The Royal Blues' are understood to have held initial talks with Kolasinac, who wants to return to Germany for personal reasons.

The biggest stumbling block appears to be Kolasinac's current salary of around €8 million per season.

Ahead of the 2020/21 campaign, Schalke 04 have introduced a salary cap of €2.5 million per season in a move to build a healthier financial future for the club.

A loan deal that would see the two clubs share the 27-year-old's salary is therefore being considered, but reaching an agreement that would suit all parties could prove difficult.

The full-back left Schalke to join Arsenal in 2017. His contract with 'The Gunners' expires in 2022.
