Official: Mainz capture 19-year-old starlet
Mainz have announced the signing of 19-year-old Issah Abass who joins the club from NK Olimpija Ljubljana.
Mainz 05 have sealed the signing of Issah Abass - a 19-year-old offensive player from Ghana - who makes the move from Slovenian side NK Olimpija Ljubljana on a five-year deal.
"Issah Abass is a highly gifted talent and an investment in our future. We trust that he can take the next leaps in his development and want to give him the necesarry time," Mainz sporting director Rouven Schröder told mainz05.de and added:
"Issah Abass can play all offensive positions. He is an incredibly dynamic, fast and yet robust player with strengths in one-on-one situations."
Abass made 53 appearances for NK Olimpija Ljubljana, scoring 17 goals.
