Rummenigge reacts to Boateng criticism
Bayern München CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has responded to Jerome Boateng's claims that he hasn't been given enough support by the club.
Yesterday, Bayern München defender Jerome Boateng complained about a lack of support form his club, saying that he was disappointed not to be publicly backed by the Bayern bosses when he was criticized after the World Cup.
Now, Bayern München CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has responded to Boateng's comments by making it clear that the defender is entitled to speak his mind.
"Basically, I have to problem with that a player has something critical to say in the direction of Uli Hoeness or me. The players are allowed to do that by us. The freedom of the press is sometimes called into question, but as you can see, it is obviously guaranteed with us," Rummenigge told Sky and continued:
"If he would like to talk to us, he is free to do that. It's important that he then plays like he did tonight. I don't think we have neglected anything. There is absolutely no dissent. Our office always stands up."
