Boateng complains about lack of support from Bayern bosses

Jerome Boateng says he didn't get the support from Bayern München that he was hoping for when he was criticized after the World Cup.
Bayern München defender Jerome Boateng has complained about a lack of support from his club.

The 30-year-old, who was linked with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain during the summer, says he is disappointed that he wasn't publicly backed by the Bayern München bosses when he was criticized for not caring enough about his football after the World Cup.

"It's important for me to make it clear once again that I'm fully focused on FC Bayern. But on the other hand, I don't think it's nice when things are said about me everywhere, and you don't get any public support from the club," Boateng told Süddeutsche Zeitung and added:

"What bothered me a lot was some of the statements after the World Cup that were almost funny. It was said that I wasn't fully focused, because I wore earrings and sunglasses in the stands at the Korea Republic game when the sun was shining."

In addition to that, Boateng made it clear that if anybody says he's not focusing enough on his football, they should ask his teammates and his coach.
