Report: Dortmund & Leverkusen scout talented French teenage prodigy

A four way traffic scenario, from three different European leagues, has emerged for St.Etienne prodigy Lucas Gourna-Douath. The 17-year-old French talent will celebrate his 18th birthday in a few days.
Gourna-Douath is being eyed by scouts from two Bundesliga clubs – Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund, along with interest from Atalanta and Chelsea.

The four clubs are said to be extremely interested in luring him away from Ligue 1 and into new surroundings, but according to RMC Sport, St.Etienne believe they will garner a higher transfer fee next season if he stays back with Les Verts. It will also prove to be beneficial for his development.

After completing only his first season as a professional footballer, the defensive midfielder’s value has grown to be around €12m and St.Etienne are reportedly willing to hear anything around the €10-15m fee range.

Atalanta are expected to make the first bid, but Chelsea have been tracking the U19 international midfielder for about a year now.

Gourna-Douath has been dubbed as the next version of Paul Pogba due to similarities in their playing style.
