Torunarigha has been part of Hertha BSC since 2006 when he joined the youth academy from Chemnitzer, making 18 senior appearances for the capital city club. The German has been capped at U16, U18, U19, U20, and U21 level, and recently represented Germany at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Torunarigha has two years remaining on his current deal but has played just six minutes of football this season under Pal Dardai.
