St. Pauli updates: Wagner loan deal nears completion, Kabadayi and Bair also linked with Kiezkicker

Germany's main sporting tabloid reports that newly promoted Bundesliga side 1. FC St. Pauli are close to finalizing a loan deal for German youth international Robert Wagner.

In other Kiezkicker-related transfer news, German transfer guru Florian Plettenberg and British footballing portal HITC report that two additional players may be on their way to Hamburg.

Newly promoted Bundesliga side FC St. Pauli are reportedly close to finalizing the deal to bring Germany U21 international Robert Wagner of SC Freiburg in on loan. This is reported by Germany's main sporting tabloid, which claims that the 20-year-old is on the verge of signing. Hamburg's Kiezkicker remain in need of attacking reinforcements following the departure of leading goal-scorer Marcel Hartel on an expiring contract. Separate sources report that two more may be on the way.

German transfer guru Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany notes that FC Bayern München attacking winger Yusuf Kabadayi may also join St. Pauli on loan. The 20-year-old netted four 2. Bundesliga goals in his most recent loan stint with FC Schalke 04. The Königsblauen were interested in exercising a purchase option for the Germany U20 international, but decided against meeting the FCB demands. Bayern apparently wish to loan out Kabadayi again with another option to buy.

British footballing portal HITC links another attacker with the Kiezkicker. Twice-capped Canadian striker Theo Bair of Scottish Premiership side Motherwell F.C. is being courted by several English second division clubs such as Cardiff City, Sunderland, and Blackburn Rovers. The 24-year-old may nevertheless be tempted to make a move to the German top flight. The 2023/24 2. Bundesliga champions are captained by Scottish league veteran and Aussie skipper Jackson Irvine.

HITC reports that Bair would be available for an affordable sum of around €1 million. The British source further notes that the German club are currently the favorites among the interested parties. Bair just completed an excellent season for the North Lanarkshire based club in which he scored 15 goals and added six assists in 41 appearances across all competitions for Motherwell. The Jamaican-heritage attacker has seen his estimated market worth triple amid his success.
