Sport Bild Report: Henriksen hopes to recruit countryman Fraulo to Mainz

Germany's main sporting tabloid reports that FSV Mainz 05 head-coach Bo Henriksen is keen on luring his Danish compatriot Oscar Fraulo from Gladbach to the Pfälzer capital.

Bundesliga side FSV Mainz 05 still find themselves in need of additional help in midfield following Leandro Barreiro's move to Benfica this summer. New summer signing Kaishu Sano was only able to complete part of training camp after a lengthy legal matter left him deposed in his native country of Japan. Germany's main sporting tabloid reports that Mainz's Danish head-coach Bo Henriksen is eager to bring Borussia Mönchengladbach's Oscar Farulo on board.

Fraulo's profile in Niederrhein has risen over the current offseason, but the 20-year-old's playing prospects under BMG trainer Gerardo Seoane remain rather minimal. There has recently been talk of a return to his most recent loan club of FC Utrecht or a move to German second division side Hannover 96. "Sport Bild" reports that Henriksen's Mainz are now leading the race.

The German tabloid claims that the two sides are actually not that far apart on a transfer fee. Gladbach are seeking upwards of €3 million whilst Mainz have tendered a €2.5 million offer. The recent mega-sale of German youth international Brajan Gruda to Brighton & Hove Albion for a reported €40 million certainly shifts the financial calculus of the Palatinate club. Matter could conceivably move swiftly.
