Stuttgart snap up Werder striker

VfB Stuttgart have announced the signing of Nick Woltemade from Werder Bremen on a free transfer.

22-year-old Werder Bremen striker Nick Woltemade will join VfB Stuttgart this summer.

The Swabian Bundesliga side confirmed the signing of Woltemade, who is out of contract with Werder, on a free transfer on Monday.

"I've been enthusiastic about VfB from the very first contact and I'm very happy to be part of the team from the summer onwards," said Woltemade.

“I have a special family connection to VfB and I am highly motivated to play at the place where I often watched the training sessions as a young boy during my vacations. I'm really looking forward to this exciting challenge with my new teammates.”

Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth said:

"Nick proved his qualities last season and established himself in the Bundesliga. He is a powerful and strong striker whose development we have followed very closely.

“We are convinced that Nick will continue his positive development with us and become a valuable factor in our attacking game.”

Woltemade scored two goals in 30 appearances for Werder in the 2023/24 season.
