After suffering a 2-0 home defeat against TSG Hoffenheim last night, Werder Bremen's winless run has extended to ten matches.

With pressure starting to mount on coach Horst Steffen in recent weeks, recent reports have suggested he has lost the dressing room.

However, Clemens Fritz confirmed to Sky Germany Steffen will remain in the dugout this Saturday against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

With Gladbach winless in three games but ahead of 15th-place Bremen by two points, a victory could ease the pressure on Steffen.

Local media source DeichStube are even labelling Saturday's 15:30 CET clash with the Rhinelanders as a “final” for Steffen.

Bremen's managing director Fritz hinted that new signings are still possible until deadline day: “The transfer market is still open”.

The club from northern Germany were recently linked with former player, Eren Dinkçi, who is reportedly unhappy at SC Freiburg.
