Mika Baur made history when he was sent onto the pitch for his Germany debut in the second half of Thursday's 2-0 UEFA Nations League win over Serbia.
As the Celtic midfielder came on, he became the 1,000th player to ever represent the German national team.
Baur, who made the switch to Scotland from SC Paderborn in the summer, entered the pitch as part of a triple substitution alongside Bambasé Conté and Jonathan Burkardt in the 77th minute of Germany's win.
Jürgen Klopp's men will play their fourth and final game of the international break when they face Greece away from home on Sunday.
