Eintracht Frankfurt coach Adi Hütter caught the eye with his criticism of Can Uzun a little over a week ago, urging the 20-year-old to embrace the team game and hinting at the need to improve his defensive work rate.

Uzun has since delivered a strong response on the pitch, most recently playing a key part in Eintracht Frankfurt's 3-1 win over Hamburger SV on Sunday.

Eintracht's third goal in that game even came after Uzun won back possession and set up goalscorer Younes Ebnoutalib.

"Did I do well, huh?" Uzun joked after the match in an interview with DAZN.

"When winning the ball back leads to a goal like that, it's perfect."

The 20-year-old went on to say that he knows his coach's criticism comes from a good place.

"I'm someone who gets criticised quite often anyway, whether it's from the fans or my coach. I know he only wants to make me better."

Hütter himself also made that point clear.

"It's always about performances," the Austrian coach explained.

"I want him to become a better player. When he plays like that, the actions follow. Then he plays those through balls and wins his duels."
