Jonas Urbig said he is relishing what will be a “very special moment” when he makes his senior debut for Germany against Serbia.
“I found out today in training and was of course very happy,” the 23-year-old grinned, speaking at this evening's press conference for Thursday.
“I'm delighted to have the opportunity to walk out onto the pitch in my stadium [Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena] tomorrow.
“It's very special. I will do everything I can to ensure that we, as a team, get our first win under Jürgen Klopp,” he added.
Giving credit to his teammate Manuel Neuer, the debate over being second choice for Bayern isn't affecting Urbig's confidence.
“This whole number one thing isn't something I'm concerned with. My focus is on reaching my limit every day and pushing beyond it.
"Everything else will fall into place over time. I've been given a lot of confidence at FC Bayern. I've been given the confidence here.
“I'll make my debut tomorrow. Everything else is something for the future. I'm living in the here and now,” the youngster added.
