Vincent Kompany has urged that Michael Olise and Luis Díaz don't strive to become the new answer to Ribéry and Robben at Bayern Munich.

“I wouldn't compare them to Robben and Ribéry yet. I have a lot of respect for these two wingers, against whom I played.

"I think Michael and Lucho should go their own way. In the end it's not just about the individual quality, but also the team trophies.

“If in the end they win the big trophies, then maybe we can talk about this topic. But at the moment, not at all,” Kompany explained.

The Belgian was asked about his two wingers becoming a modern versions of Ribéry and Robben after Bayern's 8-1 win over Wolfsburg yesterday

Both Olise and Díaz played vital roles in setting up and scoring four goals each, as the reigning champions started 2026 with a bang.
