Ibrahim Maza's contract at Bayer Leverkusen, which runs until 2030, is to be upgraded and extended at the same time.

The first conversation regarding a new deal with Maza was held last week, according to information from Sport BILD.

Leverkusen are believed to be very happy with the Algerian international's development and are eager to keep him at the club.

Maza's current salary costs the Rhineland club less than €3 million per year, placing him in the lower third compared to the squad.

During the summer transfer window, La Liga giants Atlético Madrid, among others, showed interest in the 20-year-old talent.
