Report: Bayern inquire about Chelsea defender

Bild is reporting that Bayern München have made contact with the agent of Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rüdiger.
Bayern München are understood to have inquired about Chelsea and Germany centre-back Antonio Rüdiger.

According to Bild, the German champions have called Rüdiger's half-brother and agent, Sahr Senesie, to ask about the possible conditions for a transfer.

With Niklas Süle's future still up the air, Bayern are sounding out the market to identify players, who could replace the 26-year-old in case he doesn't extend his contract, which expires next summer.

Bayern could face tough competition to sign Rüdiger, though, with Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Atlético Madrid also thought to be interested.

According to Bild, Rüdiger is currently leaning towards committing himself to Chelsea by extending his contract, which expires in 2022.

Bayern have also been linked with a move for Gladbach's Matthias Ginter. Like Süle and Rüdiger, the 27-year-old is out of contract next summer, but – apparently – not everyone at Säbener Strasse is convinced he has the qualities needed.
