Bayern 'leading the race' for Wirtz ahead of Man City, Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal

Bild journalist Christian Falk claims that Bayern München are leading the race for Bayer Leverkusen starlet Florian Wirtz ahead of Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal.
Bayern München are front-runners to sign Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz in 2023, according to Bild journalist Christian Falk.

The Bavarians face serious competition for his signature, though, with Falk reporting that Manchester City are scouting the 18-year-old intensely and Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal said to be interested as well.

Florian Wirtz's father and agent, Hans-Joachim Wirtz, recently said that the youngster wants to spend at least two more years at Leverkusen.

"Florian definitely wants to play a good role in Leverkusen for the next two years," Hans-Joachim Wirtz told Bild.

"What comes after that, we do not know yet. But his focus right now is only on Bayer and the national team."

Wirtz's contract expires in 2026. He has scored 14 goals and made 12 assists in 53 games for 'Die Werkself' so far.
