Gladbach boss explains why Marcus Thuram's move to Inter didn't happen

Gladbach boss Max Eberl has explained why Inter didn't succeed in their pursuit of Marcus Thuram during the summer.
Borussia Mönchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl has confirmed reports that Inter made an offer for Marcus Thuram during the summer transfer window.

However, the 24-year-old ended up staying at Borussia-Park for a number of reasons.

"It's true that Inter had great interest, and there was a concrete offer," Eberl confirmed in an interview with Bild.

"But firstly, Marcus didn't want to leave at all. Secondly, we did consider the offer, but we didn't really want to let him go. And then he picked up an injury."

Thuram sustained a knee injury in August that is still keeping him sidelined. The 24-year-old forward has two years left on his Gladbach contract.
