Kevin-Prince Boateng hits back at Matthäus

Kevin-Prince Boateng insists he is not fazed by recent criticism directed at him by Lothar Matthäus.
Hertha BSC midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has hit back at Lothar Matthäus over claims that his 'time is over'.

"To say to a player that his time is over after seven games is cheeky. But maybe he felt like making headlines. And he did," Boateng told Sport1 and added:

"I've been lucky enough to work as a pundit as well. I would never make a statement like that, no matter how old a player is, no matter if he might not be performing.

"I've received more criticism than praise in my career. It doesn't affect me."

Boateng, 34, has made six appearances for Hertha following his return to Germany from Italian side Monza.
