Löw: 'We weren't rewarded for a good game'

After the 1-2 defeat to France, Germany coach Joachim Löw said he felt his team deserved more.
Germany lost for the second time in a row in the UEFA Nations League last night as 'Die Mannschaft' were narrowly beaten 2-1 by France in Paris.

Joachim Löw's troops took the lead in the first half thanks to a Toni Kroos penalty, but saw Antoine Griezmann turn the game around with a double after the break. A disappointing outcome for Germany who deserved more according to Löw.

"I'm disappointed with the result. It didn't have to be like that, but we were absolutely on equal footing. In the first half, we should have scored the second goal. We weren't rewarded for a good game," the German coach told Sky.

Germany captain Manuel Neuer was also disappointed, but felt 'Die Mannschaft' delivered a much better performance than in Saturday's 0-3 defeat to the Netherlands.

"It always feels bad when you lose. It's bitter and disappointing - especially because we felt we had everything under control. 'Jogi' and his team had a clear plan, and generally, we have much less to blame ourselves for than we had after the game against the Netherlands," Neuer said.

'Die Mannschaft' are rock bottom of the UEFA Nations League Group 1 with one point after three matches.
