Adi Hütter's job as Gladbach coach is not in danger despite yesterday's embarrassing 0-6 Bundesliga defeat at home to Freiburg.

Sunday's defeat – Gladbach's second in a row – saw 'Die Fohlen' slip to 13th in the Bundesliga table. Still, Hütter doesn't have to fear for his job at the moment, Gladbach sporting director Max Eberl underlined after the game.

"If we get to the point in football that you lose two games and then general questions are asked or implied, then I can't identify with that," Eberl told DAZN.

He added that Gladbach and Hütter made the decision to go down the same path before the season.

This means "going through thick and thin and not immediately taking the decision that something has to be changed."

Looking at the team's performance, however, Eberl didn't mince his words.

"It was surreal today," admitted the Gladbach coach, who said a number of essential questions flashed through his mind during the game:

"Excuse me, what kind of shit is happening right now? And why aren't we fighting back? Why do we fall into such lethargy in a game like this, a harmlessness when it comes to tackling and defending standards?"

"The fact is that we now have to learn quickly from these defeats. And get up again as early as next Saturday in Leipzig," underlined Eberl.
