Guerreiro, Reus, Meunier and Can all doubtful for Dortmund

Raphael Guerreiro, Marco Reus, Thomas Meunier and Emre Can are all struggling with injuries ahead of Borussia Dortmund's trip to Augsburg.
Borussia Dortmund are sweating over the fitness of Raphael Guerreiro, Marco Reus, Thomas Meunier and Emre Can ahead of their trip to Augsburg on Sunday.

Guerreiro was in line to start last night's 2-2 Europa League draw with Rangers, but was left out of the starting eleven due muscle complaints.

"'Rapha' was scheduled to start, but he has muscular problems, and he told me at noon that he was not at 100 percent. We needed players on 100 percent today against the physicality of the opponent," said Dortmund coach Marco Rose following his side's Europa League elimination.

As for club captain Marco Reus, who was subbed off with an injury shortly before the final whistle, Rose didn't provide an exact diagnosis.

"Marco took a pretty bad knock. He's limping badly," said the Dortmund coach.

Thomas Meunier was forced off at half-time after suffering an injury setback following his recent return from a muscle issue.

"With Thomas, the old injury has probably broken out again. We absolutely needed him today in this decisive game, there was no chance to rest him at all," said Rose.

Emre Can played the full game, but had "pretty severe back problems" in the dressing room afterwards.

Dortmund already have a number of key players unavailable at the moment, including Erling Haaland, Manuel Akanji, Dan-Axel Zagadou and Giovanni Reyna. Nevertheless, Rose remains optimistic.

"We have had injury problems through the whole season, but we will field a powerful team in Augsburg on Sunday," he emphasized.
