Rose reveals Haaland declined MRI scan: "We can't stick the boy in a tube if he doesn't want it."

Borussia Dortmund head-coach Marco Rose confirmed that lead-striker Erling Haaland is still playing through significant pain at his Thursday presser.
In addition to providing squad updates ahead of the weekend clash with Wolfsburg, BVB head-coach Marco Rose had to answer questions about Erling Haaland's recent ankle-injury. After sustaining a nasty-looking twist on international duty, Haaland made a surprise comeback in time for the matchday 28 encounter against RB Leipzig.

Rose confirmed that Haaland returned whilst still in pain. An unspecified "pain tablet" also helped just before kickoff. Interestingly enough, Rose revealed that an injury-plagued season had left Haaland with no more patience for standard medical procedures. Rose even noted that the Norwegian star striker had declined an MRI.

"We can't stick the lad in an [MRI] tube if he doesn't want it," Rose noted, "He grits his teeth and trains through the pain. All the swelling isn't ideal, but its getting better. It came down relatively quickly after the [round 29] Stuttgart game."

Rose said that, even in the best of circumstances, the nagging injury would continue to trouble Haaland for several weeks.

"If there's something on the ligament aperture or capsule," Rose said, "and you put constant stress on it, it naturally evokes a bodily response."
