Coman receives three-match-ban for slapping incident

Bayern winger Kingsley Coman will also be unavailable to the club through the the first two competitive games of next season following a ruling from the DFB sports disciplinary committee released on Tuesday.
French attacker Kingsley Coman was sent off on a straight red deep into injury time during Bayern's 2-2 draw with Stuttgart over the weekend. Match official Deniz Aytekin opted to eject the 25-year-old after he smacked Stuttgart defender Konstantinos Mavropanos with the flat of his hand at 90+4. It was the first sending off of the winger's career.

The DFB's disciplinary committee weighed in on the incident on Tuesday, handing down a three match suspension that will carry over into next season. Coman shall miss out on this season's final matchday, along with the DFL Super Cup and the opening round of next season. Bayern's opening DFB Pokal match, deferred until later so that the team might participate in the Super Cup, will not be affected.

The responsible administrative arm of the Sports Court labelled the occurrence "an assault on an opponent". Bayern have 24 hours to appeal the decision.
