Report: Hertha and HSV battle for Brunner

Hertha BSC and Hamburger SV are not just battling for a spot in next season's Bundesliga, but also for the signature of Cedric Brunner.
Arminia Bielefeld right-back Cedric Brunner has attracted interest from Hamburger SV and Hertha BSC, according to Kicker.

HSV and Hertha will play the second leg of their Bundesliga relegation/promotion play off tie tonight, and the winning team will probably have the better chance of acquiring Brunner. HSV lead 1-0 after the first game.

28-year-old Brunner is available on a free transfer, as his contract with Bielefeld expires this summer.

He made 28 appearances for the relegation Bundesliga club through the 2021/22 campaign.
