Reports: Nübel to return to Bayern

Alexander Nübel is set to leave Monaco and return to Bayern Munich this summer, according to multiple reports.
Alexander Nübel's future no longer appears to lie in Monaco, with both L'Equipe and Sky Deutschland reporting that the 26-year-old goalkeeper is set to return to his parent club Bayern Munich at the end of his loan spell this summer.

However, whether he will actually stay at Bayern is up in the air and depends on the recovery of Manuel Neuer, who is out with a long-term leg injury.

In addition to Neuer, Bayern also have Yann Sommer on their books. The veteran Swiss shot-stopper joined the Bavarians in January on a contract until 2025 as Neuer's back-up.

The 26-year-old spent the last two seasons on loan at Monaco, making a total of 89 appearances for the Ligue 1 side.

Update: Nübel's agency has now confirmed to RTL/ntv and sport.de that the goalkeeper will not be staying in Monaco.
