After being linked with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim last summer, Matthias Braunöder's move to the Bundesliga is apparently getting more concrete. Sky reporter Philipp Hinze noted on a recent edition of the "Transfer Update" show that VfB Stuttgart are in active talks with the 20-year-old's Austrian club for a transfer this summer.

Braunöder has rose to become the captain of the Austria U21s this season and amassed six scorer points in 25 five appearances across all competitions for Austria Wien this season. The right-footer's current estimated market worth is €3.5 million in the latest transfermarkt listings. Hinze nevertheless reports that Stuttgart are negotiating a transfer fee in the €2-3 million range.

Braunöder has also been linked with, as of yet, other unnamed Bundesliga clubs. A step up to Germany in some capacity seems almost certain for the reigning Young Footballing Star of the year, as selected by Austrian newspaper Krone. The youngster's current deal in Vienna runs through 2026.
