Sky claims Højbjerg not a topic at Bayern, but other Bundesliga sides remain interested
Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg reports that Danish midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg is not a topic at FC Bayern München, but does claim that several other unnamed Bundesliga clubs are monitoring the 27-year-old.
Reports emerging yesterday Germany's main sporting tabloid concerning a possible return of Danish midfielder Pierre-Emile Kordt Højbjerg were roundly denied by Sky's German outfit this morning. German footballing journalist Florian Plettenberg, among others, claims that the 66-times-capped Danish International is not a topic at the German giants.
In a tweet released today, however, Plettenberg does note that several unnamed Bundesliga clubs are considering bringing the former Bayern player in this summer. Højbjerg is certainly no stranger to German football, having also played for Augsburg and Schalke in addition to the Bavarian record champions.
Højbjerg maintains an estimated market worth of some €45 million, meaning that the current Tottenham star almost certainly falls out of the budget of most Bundesliga clubs. Privately financed clubs such as Wolfsburg, Leipzig, and Leverkusen could still afford an outright purchase. A loan could be arranged at practically any top-tier side.
PE Højbjerg, top player but understand he is not a transfer target for FC Bayern. Nevertheless his future remains open. Bundesliga clubs and more are monitoring him. #COYS@SkySportDE 🇩🇰 pic.twitter.com/WRuqkNQwLo
